The Central Epidemic Command Center announced on April 17 that there were no new confirmed cases, keeping the total number of confirmed cases in the country at 395—340 imported and 55 domestic. Of the confirmed cases, 6 have died, 166 have been released from quarantine, and the rest remain hospitalized and in isolation.

As more and more people are using the real-name mask system 2.0 to pre-order masks online, considering the hard work of mail carriers delivering the masks, as well as pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and health center staff assisting with the distribution of real-name masks, deliveries to participating NHI-contracted pharmacies and health centers will be suspended every Sunday starting April 19 to allow them time to rest.

The Command Center further noted that if pharmacies still have unsold masks from Monday to Saturday and are open and willing to sell on Sundays, they welcome such efforts and do not oppose them, expressing gratitude for their service dedication. The operation of the real-name mask system 2.0 has become increasingly convenient, and the public is encouraged to make greater use of the online pre-order method to purchase masks.
