Every year from late September to early October is when Germany holds its Beer Festival, a major annual event in Munich that lasts for two weeks. In recent years, similar events have begun to be held in other countries, where elements of German cuisine are added to dishes, paired with chilled beer to inject more vibrancy into the cities. A hotel operator in Miaoli has collaborated with Zhunan Brewery, the largest brewery in Southeast Asia, to launch a “German Pork Knuckle” themed meal, offering the public an alternative choice.

The German Munich Beer Festival is called Oktoberfest in German, meaning “October Celebration.” It takes place from the third Saturday of September to the first weekend of October each year. Originally stemming from a royal wedding celebration in 1810, it has now evolved into a world-famous beer festival. During the Beer Festival, Munich regularly hosts various parades, music, and cultural events, attracting a large number of tourists from around the globe. According to statistics from the local tourism bureau, up to 5 million liters of beer are consumed during these two-week celebrations alone.

Chao Pin Hotel Miaoli continues the summer’s vibrancy by offering freshly brewed 500┬ local beer paired with a “German Pork Knuckle” themed meal, which includes German sausages, Frankfurt sausages, black pepper veal sausages, mint lamb sausages, and beer-flavored asparagus sausages. This allows the public to celebrate the Beer Festival in sync with Munich. The event runs from now until November 30th (weekdays, Monday to Friday), at 499 NTD per person.
