Organized by the Taiwan Good Foundation, the Winter Storage Lecture will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:30 PM, featuring Executive Chef Cheng Yen-Chi (Chef Ah-Chi) of Fullon Hotels, who will share “Happy Cooking Philosophy” at the Fu-Yuan Elementary School activity center in Chihshang Township, Taitung County (No. 17 Zhonghua Road, Chihshang Township, Taitung County). Admission is free.

This time, Chef Ah-Chi is not in Chihshang to teach cooking, but to share his life philosophy, talk about his work attitude, and recount the ups and downs behind delicious dishes. With over forty years in the industry, Chef Ah-Chi holds the prestigious title of National Chef and was even awarded the Golden Bell Award for Best Variety Show Host this year. Yet he remains as humble as ever, serving the public with unwavering enthusiasm. There is much to learn from his outlook on life.

The Taiwan Good Foundation’s “Four Seasons Activities,” aligned with traditional farming schedules — the “Spring Plowing Picnic Festival” invites everyone to enjoy rice snacks on the grass by Dapo Pond, with the lake as a stage for band performances; the “Chihshang Summer Rice Feast” combines the culinary skills of local moms with the creativity of five-star hotel chefs to host unique “banquet” events, while also welcoming the artists who come to Chihshang each year; the “Chihshang Autumn Harvest Concert” takes place on the endless rice fields by Brown Highway, with golden stalks as the stage, featuring national concert-level groups presenting the most harmonious and breathtaking performances between humans and nature; the “Winter Storage” focuses on lectures by experts and masters.

This is the third year of the Winter Storage lecture series. For registration or inquiries, please call: Chihshang Good Shop at 089-862-046 or Taiwan Good Foundation at 02-2558-2616.
