Tanzi is situated in the central part of Taichung City and is one of its satellite towns. Due to the Ministry of Economic Affairs setting up an export processing zone here, it has drawn a large population to settle in. With its abundant cycling station routes and natural green areas, bring your family for a stroll in Tanzi this weekend!

The Tanzayashen Greenway was built along the former military railway branch line of Shengan. It starts from Zhongshan Road in Tanzi District, passes through Daya District and Shenkang District, and ends at the land of the Central Taiwan Science Park in Zhongyi Li, Daya District, spanning approximately 14 kilometers. With gently sloped terrain, it's ideal for family-friendly outdoor cycling. Along the route, different plantings showcase seasonal scenery and the unique character of each town, truly refreshing the spirit.

Nestled beside the Tanzayashen cycling path within Tanzi Industrial Zone, Zhai Xing Villa is the foremost among Taiwan’s top ten historic residences. Built in 1871 by Qing Dynasty General Lin Qizhong, it took nine years to complete. A contemporary poem described it as: “There are those as wealthy as Lin Qizhong, but none with a residence like his; there are those with residences like his, but none as wealthy.” This praises the villa’s exquisitely carved, inscribed, and painted architecture. Inside the gatehouse lies a flat and spacious front courtyard, with a crescent-shaped pond and a lush bamboo grove in front—a truly pleasant sight. The villa’s Koji pottery and reliefs are also must-sees.

Every year in late autumn, the Tanzi Rainy Pine Secret Spot becomes a must-visit hidden gem in central Taiwan for travelers. Passing the entrance of the Xintian Hiking Trail, continue uphill along Longxing Lane toward the adjacent industrial road, where you can gaze out at this beautiful expanse of rainy pine forest. Each rainy pine stands against the blue sky and white clouds, with sunlight filtering through the gaps, casting a gradient of red, orange, and golden hues across all the branches and leaves. The entire slope bathed in romantic crimson is especially beloved by couples who come here to admire the enchanting scenery.

The Xintian Mountain Hiking Trail, located on Juxing Mountain, is a 2-kilometer trail featuring 1,063 wooden steps that wind along the mountain. In addition to several observation decks, there is also a specially added eagle-viewing platform overlooking the Fengyuan area. This hiking trail is a great spot for both locals and visitors from Tanzi and Fengyuan to enjoy leisurely walks and hikes on weekdays and holidays.
