Winter in Korea offers a silver-white world and the joy of skiing, attracting many tourists every year to experience it. To promote Korea’s rich winter tourism offerings and unique ice festivals, the Korea Tourism Organization will hold the “2012 Korea Skiing & Winter Carnival Festival” on December 15–16, 2012, at the circular plaza on the first floor of Pacific SOGO in Kaohsiung. The two-day event will include hands-on snowman making, simulated ice fishing experiences, and a wish card lottery for plane tickets — perfect for family fun.

During the snowy season, kids love building snowmen, and this event also features free snowman-making experiences, with a limit of 15 participants per session. One of the most appealing aspects of Korea’s winter festivals is ice fishing on frozen lakes, and the event will simulate this experience for visitors to try. Additionally, anyone who writes a wish card for the Mountain-River-Fish Festival can enter a lucky draw: on the evening of December 15 at 19:30, digital photo frames and LED speakers will be given away; on the evening of December 16 at 18:30, one round-trip plane ticket from Kaohsiung to Cheongju on Far Eastern Air will be drawn.
