On January 1, 2013, the Northeast Coast Dawn Festival will officially begin at 3:30 AM. This year’s star-studded lineup is more impressive than ever, with host Chen Han-Dian, heavy rock band OVERDOSE, charismatic band Wang Fu, soul diva Yang She Shi, B-BOX artist ECHO, Alec Su, Ding Dang, and Yao Yao taking turns to keep the celebration going. There will also be game stalls and energy breakfasts, offering various forms of excitement to help everyone welcome the first morning of 2013 in a fun, delicious, and musical atmosphere.

Xu Zheng-Long, Director of the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration, stated that the fifth edition of the Northeast Coast “Greet the Dawn, Win First” music concert will not only feature the highly anticipated main stage performances but also the “Dawn Fashion Avenue” created with laser lights and light sculpture technology on Azure Boulevard and Rainbow Bridge, which is sure to be a visual treat. Online registration for the 2013 Northeast Coast “Greet the Dawn, Win First” event will start at 9:00 AM on December 14. Participants can register on the event website, with 1,000 successful registrants receiving a First Financial Group-sponsored First Gold Dawn Gift (including round-trip train tickets between Taipei/Fulong, a dawn commemorative scarf, and a breakfast coupon). Train tickets can be collected on December 24 and 25, 2012, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, by presenting an ID-bearing document and the successful registration confirmation number in person at the First Financial Group building. Before the event, participants can also join the dawn games on the event website—the first 200 will receive a “Happy First Lucky Bag,” and the first 100 to visit the photo check-in area on the day of the event and upload their photos to Facebook will receive “Happy Warm Glowing Gloves.”
Taiwan Railways has also added extra trains to accommodate dawn festival-goers, departing from Banqiao, Taipei, and Songshan stations starting at 1:45 AM on January 1 until 2:30 AM, with direct service to Fulong. Additionally, Farglory Hotel Fulong Branch will waive admission fees from midnight on December 31, 2012, to noon on January 1, 2013. Moreover, those presenting the Dawn Festival flyer can enjoy various perks within the Northeast Coast area, including a 40% discount on lodging at Longmen Camping Area on December 31, 2012, and an 20% discount on hot spring baths at Dragon Cave Four Seasons Bay from December 31, 2012, to January 2, 2013.
