The Lantern Festival is set to arrive on February 24th, with celebration events taking place across Taiwan. The Hongmao Port Cultural Park in Kaohsiung, in conjunction with the Lantern Festival fireworks display at Glory Pier in Kaohsiung Harbor’s Asia New Bay Area, has launched a Lantern Festival Fireworks Cruise. There will be a total of four cruises from February 22nd to 24th, with regular tickets priced at NT$250. Tickets can be purchased in advance at 7-Eleven ibon kiosks or at the service counter in Warehouse C5 of Pier-2 Art Center, or on the day from 1:30 PM to 8:20 PM at the venue.

For this year’s Lantern Festival Fireworks Cruises, there will be one session each on the evenings of February 22nd and 23rd at 8:30 PM, and two sessions on the Lantern Festival itself, February 24th, at 6:50 PM and 8:30 PM, in coordination with the Kaohsiung Lantern Festival fireworks. Each cruise lasts approximately 40 minutes and includes a guided tour. Regular tickets are NT$250, and discounted tickets are NT$150. Each regular harbor cruise ticket comes with a free Heineken beer. Boarding takes place at Pier-2 (next to Warehouse P2).

The Hongmao Port Cultural Park not only boasts rich cultural and historical significance, but its unique experience of “riding a yacht, watching the sunset, and seeing large ships enter the harbor” has made it a popular destination for travelers. The park’s three yachts, named after geographical features, local industries, and religious beliefs — “Haishan,” “Wujin,” and “Baobi” — have attracted over 3,000 passengers during the Lunar New Year period.
