Lucky draw with lanterns given away – Traditional yuanxiao (sweet glutinous rice balls) go on sale in Daqiaotou Yansan Business District

This year’s highlight of Taipei’s Lantern Festival, aside from the Taipei Lantern Festival at Yuanshan Exhibition Hall, is the must-eat yuanxiao. The most authentic, traditional, and old-fashioned made yuanxiao can be found in the traditional rice food district “Daqiaotou Yansan Business District.” From today until tomorrow (21st) at 12 noon, a special limited-time offer of 500 boxes is available for pre-order. In addition, Daqiaotou Yansan Business District will also hold a Lantern Festival evening party tomorrow. On-site activities include a limited “free yuanxiao tasting,” free distribution of 500 DIY lanterns, and participants can also receive one lucky draw ticket.

Each yuanxiao is firm and plump, evoking memories of the district’s rice food culture. Aside from the classic best-selling flavors such as handmade sesame, peanut, and savory yuanxiao, there are also health-conscious options like red glutinous sesame and red glutinous peanut flavors. Each flavor is available for pre-order of 100 boxes—original price 40 NTD per box, special price 100 NTD for 3 boxes (shipping not included), limited to 3 boxes per person while supplies last. Plain unfilled traditional handmade small yuanxiao are originally priced at 100 NTD per jin, now on special for 60 NTD per jin, with no limit on pre-order quantity.
