The Gold Coast is Australia’s most famous holiday destination, stretching over 70 kilometers of coastline south of Brisbane. With its subtropical climate, it basks in sunshine throughout the year. Aside from 26 lively and colorful beaches, the area is also home to many internationally rated luxury resorts, over 30 themed amusement parks, 12 tropical rainforest national parks, and more than 50 golf courses. For Taiwanese tourists, the theme parks and live performances are particularly popular—there’s something for all ages, with thrilling rides and exciting shows that make it ideal for family holidays. However, for visitors from Europe and America, it’s the pristine white-sand beaches and thrilling water activities that captivate them the most.

Surfers Paradise

Nearly as famous as the Gold Coast itself, Surfers Paradise is a must-visit spot for every traveler. Its golden, sandy beach stretching for tens of kilometers and excellent surf conditions attract countless surf enthusiasts. Coupled with the high-rise holiday apartments and hotels built along the shore, as well as the lively shops and shopping malls, Surfers Paradise has become a modern, urban-style resort destination.

The main area of Surfers Paradise is centered around Cavill Mall, where you’ll find numerous shopping malls, restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops. Walking along Cavill Mall toward The Esplanade will lead you to Surfers Paradise Beach. The beach is always crowded with sunbathers, and you’ll often see surfers carrying their boards, ready to hit the waves. Most tourists flock here as well.

Champagne Sailing Cruise

The owners of the Champagne Sailing Cruise are a Dutch couple, Klass and Elke Kooij, who are passionate about life at sea. After years of effort, they built their own sailing yacht—HEIKE—and set sail from Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 2004 to begin their global sailing journey. After seven months, they arrived at the Gold Coast in Australia. Drawn by the favorable climate and sailing conditions, they decided to make Australia their home.

Typically, the two-hour sunset cruise is the most popular option among tourists, as it allows you to enjoy both the dusk and nighttime views of the inner bay. Each passenger can choose their favorite spot on board, sip champagne while feeling the sea breeze, and admire the scenery of the bay. The hosts also share insights about the bay’s famous landmarks and recount their fascinating experiences from traveling around the world.

In addition, the hosts prepare a delicious seafood platter for guests, featuring crab, shrimp, salad, and fruit. A massive cake is served for dessert, ensuring everyone heads back with a full stomach and a happy heart.

Q1 Observation Deck

The Q1 Observation Deck is arguably the tallest building on the Gold Coast and also ranks as the tallest in Queensland. No matter where you are in Surfers Paradise, you can spot this towering, futuristic structure. It’s also the newest attraction in Surfers Paradise. The observation deck features floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering 360-degree views, allowing you to fully take in the stunning scenery of the Gold Coast. From the deep blue sea and sky to the towering buildings of Surfers Paradise and the golden sandy beaches in the distance, everything is within view.

Mt Tamborine

About a half-hour drive from the Gold Coast, along quiet country roads away from the bustling coast and the blue Pacific Ocean, you’ll arrive at a vast expanse of green forest—known locally as the Gold Coast Hinterland. Often referred to as the Gold Coast’s backyard, this area now includes nine national parks, with Mt Tamborine being one of them.

The lush forests and tranquil countryside scenery have long made this a romantic honeymoon destination for Australians. As Queensland’s first national park, Mt Tamborine is home to rare plants dating back 150 million years, as well as unique birds and butterfly species. Its forest trails attract many nature-loving hikers. Additionally, the area boasts charming B&Bs, rural guesthouses, vineyards, and artsy craft workshops.
