In April, as spring blossoms, an unexpected snow scene appears at Baishi Lake. The flowering fringe tree, known as "April Snow," is now in full bloom near the suspension bridge at Baishi Lake and around the Tongxin Pool. Dense clusters of fringe flowers cover the treetops, creating a view from afar that resembles a field of glistening snow. Flower enthusiasts looking to admire the blooms should plan their visit during this blooming period.

The long, slender petals of the fringe tree resemble the tassels on the elegant robes worn by ancient ladies, hence its name. Every year from March onwards, it’s the season for fringe tree blossoms. Amidst the lush greenery of spring, the snow-white, slender flowers dot the entire fringe tree. When the wind blows, they scatter like a snowstorm—truly a spectacular sight, which is why the fringe tree is also called "April Snow." In addition to the snowy white fringe flowers, the graceful and dreamy purple chinaberry blossoms, with their soft purple hues, have also bloomed in full, swaying gently in the breeze. The purple of the chinaberry intermingles with the white of the fringe flowers, complementing each other beautifully, making one feel as if immersed in an elegant setting, evoking a faintly intoxicating sense of romance. Moreover, the Firecracker Lily and the Formosan Lily will soon bloom in succession, making this period the “snow season” at Baishi Lake. Visitors coming to admire the flowers here should remember to slow down and fully appreciate the diverse charm of the purples and whites competing in splendor.

The Baishi Lake Suspension Bridge connects nearby attractions such as the Tongxin Pool, Guzhui Pi, Husband and Wife Trees, and the Chunqiu Trail, forming a complete urban-rural landscape. Whether driving or taking public transport, Baishi Lake is easily accessible and a great spot for recreation and leisure. Nowadays, when visiting the Baishi Lake area, you can enjoy not only the flower viewing but also the fun of strawberry picking.
