Run with Stuart and friends at the Minions Run marathon

The most talked-about animated movie of 2015, Minions, charmed the world—not only was the film a box office hit, but its merchandise was also extremely popular. Though the movie has left theaters, the yellow craze continues to sweep across Japan. Japanese businesses, in collaboration with Universal Studios, have organized a large-scale Minions marathon event called "Minions Funrun & MUSIC FESTIVAL JAPAN" in six Japanese cities starting in 2016. In addition to seeing thousands of real-life Minions running together, the event will also feature American singer Pharrell Williams as the DJ.

All fans participating in the Minions Funrun will receive a full set of Minions costumes and limited-edition medals, allowing every participant to transform into a yellow Minion and run joyfully together—just imagining it is a lot of fun. The event will be held in six locations across Japan, including Hokkaido, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Okinawa, and Tokyo. The confirmed dates so far are Tokyo (February 13–14, 2016) and Okinawa (March 26–27, 2016), while the other four cities’ running schedules have not yet been announced.
