Tunnel No. 8 is located next to the Tai’an Railway Cultural Park in Houli, Taichung. Its railway has a history of 100 years, and visitors wishing to explore the old Mountain Line Tunnel No. 8 must make their way through layers of overgrown weeds. Located between Heping and Zhongkeng in Taichung, Yuanzui Mountain is the watershed of the Shaolai Stream, a tributary of the Dajia River. The Wanli Great Wall Hiking Trail, located in the Dajia Mountain Plateau’s southwest conservation forest area in Dadu District, is dubbed the “Great Wall” because its winding path resembles the ancient structure. The one-way hike takes about an hour, with beautiful tree lines and blooming flowers on both sides. From the trail, you can gaze out at the lush hills and enjoy the bright scenery of the Dadu Hills.

The Dakeng Scenic Area in Beitun, Taichung, is a key leisure destination for locals during holidays and weekends. It currently features 12
hiking trails with a total length of approximately 15.6 kilometers. Each trail has its own unique characteristics and varying levels of difficulty. The paths winding along the mountain ridgelines seem to stretch on endlessly. Not only do they require ample physical stamina, but also courage — completing the full hike takes around two hours.
