According to local South Korean media reports, a loophole in epidemic prevention efforts has emerged in South Korea's response to the Wuhan pneumonia outbreak. From the routine press conference held by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the afternoon of the 19th to this morning (the 20th), 31 new cases of Wuhan pneumonia have been reported, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 82.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 13 of the new cases are residents of Daegu, and 11 of them were infected after coming into contact with a confirmed female patient. The contact occurred at a church and a hospital. The woman transmitted the virus to multiple people, making her a super-spreader of Wuhan pneumonia.

The woman had traveled to Seoul at the end of last month and was hospitalized for treatment following a car accident. On February 10, she developed a feverish condition and went to a local hospital for testing on the 17th. She was then transferred to another hospital for isolation and treatment.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare stated that close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 (Wuhan pneumonia) cases must strictly adhere to home quarantine measures. Violators may be fined up to NT$300,000.
Individuals entering from China, Hong Kong, and Macau must truthfully complete the “Entry Health Declaration and Home Quarantine Notice” and strictly follow home quarantine protocols. Violators may be fined up to NT$150,000.
Everyone must cooperate with epidemic prevention measures and maintain good personal hygiene habits. Do not take chances or break the rules—doing so risks not only financial loss but also your own and others' health.
