The 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival lit up Taichung, drawing many travelers to take photos. The various lantern zones not only featured a breathtaking main lantern but also many hidden romantic light displays, becoming another hot topic on social media.

Taichung City set up the “Wandering Hakka Homeland Lantern Zone” along the Hua-Hua Trail in Houli, featuring one main lantern, five themed lanterns, and ten lantern sets symbolizing Hakka cultural landscapes. Using techniques such as indigo dyeing, bamboo weaving, and crochet combined with technological lighting, the ultra-dreamy scenes made people unable to stop taking photos. It’s like a hidden photo spot, a delightful surprise discovered only when walking up to connect the Forest Park Zone and the Horse Ranch Park Zone.

Additionally, the “Exquisite Floral Capital Lantern Zone” in Xinshe used crochet art to present a 5-meter cherry blossom tree and vibrantly colored mushroom-shaped woven lantern sets. Different from traditional lanterns, it offers a taste of modern art aesthetics, a rare sight indeed.

Meanwhile, the main lantern in the “New Year Blessing Lantern Zone” in Dongshi was created using 130 strands of LED strips forming a “point-controlled light string,” showcasing never-before-seen lighting, typography, graphics, and music effects—extremely cool and full of tech flair.

This year’s “Peace – Weaving Hakka & Aboriginal Lantern Zone” presented a flowing light imagery reminiscent of endless streams, and simulated a firefly ecological lantern area. It’s also a highly popular lantern-viewing spot, attracting many visitors to take photos.
