From June 10 to 15, 2013, the first leg of the environmentally friendly “Bike to Hike” series, fully sponsored by VAUDE, has been successfully completed. The five-day journey ended with a successful summit of the 5,150-meter Qiyi Glacier, with the entire climb achieved through entirely non-mechanical methods. VAUDE’s eco-friendly outdoor philosophy was further elevated during this event.

It is understood that VAUDE has long been committed to the development of environmentally friendly mountaineering. Green China is one of VAUDE’s ongoing series of eco-outdoor initiatives, which has been running for five years. In 2013, the “Bike to Hike” themed series of eco-practices will mark a new chapter in VAUDE’s Green China efforts. The campaign will feature three key locations: the Qiyi Glacier, Mount Haba, and the Alps. Through a recruitment process, environmentally conscious outdoor enthusiasts will be invited to complete the entire mountaineering journey using two non-mechanical methods: cycling and trekking.
