Although it was pouring inside the booth, participants remained calm and composed
On September 28th, at Shenyang’s Zhuo Zhan Shopping Mall, in the “Glove Test” experimental area, participants submerged their hands and then wore either gloves made of Gore-Tex® membrane or ordinary plastic gloves. They then performed rapid fist-clenching exercises to increase blood circulation and raise hand temperature, before suddenly immersing their hands in icy water. The hands wearing plastic gloves felt wet, cold, and freezing, while those wearing Gore-Tex® membrane gloves felt dry and warm as moisture quickly evaporated.
The different sensations between the left and right hands amazed participants
On November 3rd in Chengdu, “Wang Qi,” a local expert outdoor enthusiast invited by Gore, brought outdoor survival and wilderness rescue lessons to the event. “Many outdoor skills can help us handle emergencies in daily life, but in the outdoors, they could save a life. In addition, choosing fully functional outdoor gear is also a form of self-protection. Products made with Gore-Tex® fabric offer windproof, waterproof, and breathable features that maintain good microcirculation in the body, reducing the risk of frostbite and hypothermia. Trekkers who frequently visit Tibetan areas should pay extra attention!”
With the successful conclusion of the Chengdu stop, the third “Gore-Tex® Brand Technology Experience Tour,” which lasted three months, came to a perfect close. This tour, spanning six major cities—Beijing, Changchun, Shenyang, Harbin, Shanghai, and Chengdu—attracted over 27,000 participants. Thousands of outdoor enthusiasts and consumers personally experienced the Rain & Wind booth and joined interactive games, getting an up-close look at the unique appeal of high-performance outdoor fabrics. At the same time, they learned a lot about outdoor travel knowledge and wilderness first aid through real-life experiences.
On-site interactive teaching attracted many consumers
Unlike the previous two editions, this year’s “Gore-Tex® Brand Technology Experience Tour” not only let outdoor enthusiasts experience the waterproof, windproof, and breathable features of Gore-Tex® gear through booths, live experiments, and product displays, but also invited well-known outdoor experts to share their genuine outdoor experiences. Gore Hero and captain of the Mountain Rescue Team at the Ministry of Civil Affairs Emergency Rescue Promotion Center, Wang Xin, shared his feelings comparing real outdoor adventures with those in the experience booth at the Beijing launch stop. He also discussed many outdoor experiences and tips. Senior outdoor guide “Hui Jian Jue Fu Yun” (Ma Wenjun) from Panjin, Liaoning, led his team to the Shenyang event, guiding consumers into the experience booth and sharing outdoor knowledge based on both the experience and travel stories. Meanwhile, local expert outdoor player “Zhuo Zi” (Wang Zhuo) from Changchun, along with his outdoor team, conducted an on-site inspection of upcoming gear at the Changchun stop of the “Gore-Tex® Brand Technology Experience Tour,” offering deeper analysis of the practical uses of each item. Through these firsthand accounts from outdoor experts, every stop of this year’s tour became even more engaging. Real outdoor stories and direct experiences from live tests gave outdoor enthusiasts a more vivid sense of the allure of the outdoors.
