Just how beautiful is the main peak of the Qinling Mountains, Taibai Mountain? Let these bloggers take you on a tour.

On May 1st, on the occasion of the 2014 Baoji City Cultural Tourism Festival and the grand opening of Taibai Mountain, ten influential bloggers from across the country—Kong Qingdong, Xu Xiake, Zhang Yi, Huang Shengyou, Dai Xueneng, Zhao Geyu, Ding Qizhen, Liu Xiaorong, Shi Junrong—and journalists from media outlets such as Tencent, Sina, Shaanxi Daily, and Xi’an TV brought their microblogs for an on-site “micro-tour.” They wrote about Taibai, photographed Taibai, and talked about Taibai, passionately meeting Taibai Mountain during the “May Day” holiday.

During the three-day “micro-tour,” the bloggers visited the renowned leisure resort town of Tangyu, the picturesque Wetland Park, and experienced the authentic “Tangyu Hot Springs” at the Taibai Mountain Phoenix Hot Spring Hotel.

At the majestic and elegant Taibai Mountain, the main peak of the Qinling range, the bloggers took in eight uniquely stunning landscapes: Red River Cliff, Xieyu Pass, Ancient Maple Seclusion, Peach Stream Meanders, Doumu Peak, Peaceful Sea of Clouds, Taibai Pearl, and Baxian Summit. They also witnessed the magical sight of “Taibai Snow in May.”

The bloggers showcased their scholarly flair and literary talents, producing a continuous stream of brilliant blog posts. Their unique travel experiences and captivating writings became a window for netizens to learn about Taibai Mountain.

While visiting the Iron Wall scenic spot on Taibai Mountain, renowned Peking University professor Kong Qingdong remarked, “The people, the people are the true iron wall!”

Blogger @Xiaoxiaoke couldn’t help but post on Weibo: “Taibai Mountain, so high and perilous. Formed through millennia, it’s a wonder passed down through time. Swordsmen and salt merchants once hesitated to tread here, while the poetic immortal sighed in verse. Shu people looked north toward the chaos of Chang’an, and Qin armies climbed without a single ant’s trail. Thirty years ago, a student took five days and four nights to return. Going, he rejoiced with his pot and shovel; returning, he lamented lost clothes and hat. Today, I climb Taibai Peak again, only to see spring colors blanketing the mountains. The cable car takes me straight to Xiabansi, and I reach out to pluck a red azalea. Though I may not reach Baxian Summit or Dayehai, my heart’s wish is fulfilled: let the beauty remain for future generations, forever and always!”

During the event, a symposium titled “Discussing Taibai Mountain” was held. Leaders from the Taibai Mountain Tourism Area Management Committee engaged face-to-face with the bloggers, discussing in depth how to leverage new technologies and ideas in tourism promotion and marketing in the new media era, aiming to establish “Taibai Mountain” as a top-tier national tourism brand.

Throughout the event, the bloggers shared real-time updates on Weibo with followers, showcasing the journey’s beautiful scenery, delicious food, and memorable moments. Their frequent and approachable interactions garnered immense attention, making the charming Taibai Mountain a hot topic on Weibo. In just a few days, thousands of Weibo posts generated nearly 100 million impressions.

The online interaction also fueled offline enthusiasm. On May 1st, Taibai Mountain in Shaanxi welcomed 12,000 visitors, generating 1.8 million yuan in ticket revenue, with the scenic area hosting 84,000 tourists and achieving 16.8 million yuan in total tourism income. On May 2nd, visitor numbers surged to 21,000, ticket sales hit 3.12 million yuan, the area received 150,000 tourists, and total tourism revenue reached 30 million yuan.

This year’s “May Day” holiday truly sparked a tourism “craze” at Taibai Mountain.
