2015In 2015, the Asian Outdoor Trade Show will celebrate its 10th birthday in Nanjing. To thank exhibitors who have supported the show’s growth over the years, Nanjing Ningfei Company has decided to offer the biggest discounts to date during the 10th edition of the event, giving back to exhibitors and celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Asian Outdoor Trade Show10.

The discount policy may seem complicated, but it’s actually just a simple combination of two discount conditions. Let us analyze the most cost-effective participation strategy for you.

The first type of discount is a passive benefit, which is an automatic discount given to all exhibitors by the Asian Outdoor Trade Show simply by participating. For all exhibitors, whether they book custom-built booths or standard booths, each time they participate, they receive a 1% discount on booth fees, and so on — after three participations, the discount is 3%, after five it’s 5%. The years of participation do not need to be consecutive. In short, the discount percentage for 2015 booth fees equals the total number of past participations (including 2015 and 2016).

The second type is an active discount, which includes early registration benefits and the 2016 continuous participation discount. Early registration has always been the most generous discount method offered by the Asian Outdoor Trade Show to all exhibitors — simply register before December 31, 2014, and prepay 10% of the booth fee to qualify. The 10th anniversary discount policy of the Asian Outdoor Trade Show considers not only the past but also offers booth discounts for 2016. If an exhibitor signs a two-year continuous participation agreement for both 2015 and 2016, they can enjoy a 1% discount for the 2016 participation in advance during the 2015 show, and continue to benefit from this discounted price in 2016. For example, if a company has participated continuously from 2006 to 2014, registers for a custom-built booth at the end of 2014, and signs a two-year continuous participation agreement for 2015 and 2016, then the discounted price they will enjoy for both 2015 and 2016 is: 950 × (1 - 11 × 1%) = 845.5 yuan.

In summary, the best discount strategy, according to our editor, is to register early for the 2015 show, sign a two-year continuous participation agreement, and combine that with the number of previous participations to accumulate the lowest possible booth fees. Among these, securing the discounted price through a continuous participation agreement is very important — it allows you to enjoy the discount in 2015 in advance, and ensures you get the 2015 discount price in 2016 regardless of whether prices return to normal or increase. Our editor believes that such a continuous discount policy is an opportunity not to be missed for exhibitors with long-term plans and stable development.

Although booth prices are an important part of the trade show, the scale of the event and the brands participating are the key indicators of the 2015 show’s quality. According to Mr. Li Hao, Project Director of the Asian Outdoor Trade Show, excluding objective venue constraints, the 2015 Asian Outdoor Trade Show will return to its original scale of four exhibition halls and will feature a variety of new and innovative supporting activities to celebrate its 10th anniversary. We’ve also recently learned that COA member brands have expressed their continued support for the Asian Outdoor Trade Show.

Additionally, our editor has noticed that in recent years, many “pop-up” trade shows have emerged — new events every year, but with very short lifespans. Such short-lived, guerrilla-style exhibitions are very detrimental to the long-term development of businesses. We hope exhibitors will keep their eyes open, pay attention not only to the shows themselves but also to the operational strength of the companies behind them, including the management and influence of their other exhibition projects, whether they have a history of organizing “pop-up” shows due to their own issues, and how often. If an exhibition company has had too many such events, it indicates a lack of experience in organizing shows and insufficient understanding of the industry, making it unable to lead the industry toward greater development.

Finally, we’ve also learned that as a UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) certified exhibition company, Nanjing Ningfei International Exhibition Co., Ltd.’s other exhibition project, the 2014 (4th) Asian Bicycle Exhibition, will open from October 9–12 in Nanjing. According to Mr. Li Hao, General Manager of Nanjing Ningfei Company, the company places great emphasis on industry needs and the long-term development of its projects. Whether in the outdoor or bicycle industry, Nanjing Ningfei strives to create a professional, stable, and sustainably developing platform for the industry. We hope all exhibitors will register early for the Asian Outdoor Trade Show to enjoy more discounts and celebrate its 10th anniversary together. At the same time, outdoor industry friends are warmly welcome to visit the 4th Asian Bicycle Exhibition in Nanjing in October to learn about the related industry and promote their own development.
