South Korea bans entry of Chinese tourists ! Virgin Atlantic permanently suspends Hong Kong routes

On February 6, five new confirmed cases of Wuhan pneumonia were reported nationwide, bringing the total to 16. As the epidemic spreads to various countries, South Korea has adjusted its entry policies — not only has it suspended the issuance of short-term tourist visas for China, but foreigners who have visited Hubei Province in China within the past 14 days are also prohibited from entering.
 
Moreover, South Korea’s three major department store brands, including the well-known Lotte Department Store, Shinsegae Department Store, and Hyundai Department Store, have also adjusted and shortened their business hours, and will be closed for one day on February 10. The popular tourist attraction “Ewha Womans University,” frequented by many visitors, has also posted notices outside prohibiting foreign travelers from entering.

Due to the severe impact of the epidemic, Virgin Australia Airlines also announced on February 6 that it will permanently terminate Hong Kong route operations, stating that Hong Kong is no longer commercially viable due to the anti-extradition movement and the impact of the Wuhan pneumonia epidemic in China.
 
Virgin Atlantic announced that the last flight from Melbourne to Hong Kong will cease operations starting February 11, and explained that the daily flight from Sydney to Hong Kong is also expected to be suspended starting March 2.
