According to Japan’s NHK, the Diamond Princess cruise ship docked at Yokohama Port has reported 41 new confirmed cases of Wuhan pneumonia. The total number of confirmed cases on the ship has now reached 61, and the Central Epidemic Command Center has also announced that starting February 6, international cruise ships will be banned from docking at Taiwanese ports.

On February 6, 20 people on the Diamond Princess were hospitalized after testing positive for Wuhan pneumonia, including one Taiwanese woman. The total number of confirmed cases on the ship has now reached 61, and over 3,700 passengers and crew must remain in their cabins.

In light of several recent cases of cruise passengers or crew members being infected with the novel coronavirus pneumonia, and considering that international cruise ships are high-risk environments due to their densely populated and highly interactive nature, the Central Epidemic Command Center has announced a ban on international cruise ships docking at Taiwanese ports starting February 6.
