In January 2015, the GORE-TEX? brand series of events themed “Experience the Difference – Ultimate Experience, Extraordinary Feeling” made its appearance at ISPO BEIJING 2015, the 11th Asia Outdoor Trade Show & Fashion Exhibition. At the GORE-TEX? brand activity area on-site, a dreamy purple ceiling showcased the unique technological structure of the GORE-TEX? membrane, while stylish magnetic levitation shoe displays attracted a large number of visitors. On January 28, another innovative technology developed by the GORE-TEX? brand – 3L GORE-TEX? Products With Gore? C-Knit? Backer Technology – was unveiled at the “Ultimate Craftsmanship, Achieving Excellence Together: GORE-TEX? Brand Technology Innovation Sharing Event.” The new three-layer GORE-TEX? products using this technology not only provide the same durable waterproof and windproof protection but also significantly reduce weight and enhance breathability. Zhuang Songming, General Manager of the Apparel Division of Gore’s Textile Business in China, Greg Grenzke, Product Design Manager of the Climbing Series Apparel at Arc'teryx?, and Zhang Ji, Marketing Manager of Amer Sports Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., were among the guests who attended the event and shared insights on technological innovations in the outdoor sports field with the audience.

The on-site guests and numerous outdoor enthusiasts shared the technological innovations of the GORE-TEX? brand and the Arc'teryx? brand in the outdoor field together.

The GORE? C-Knit? lining technology unveiled that day is the latest technological innovation achievement of the GORE-TEX? brand. Since its establishment in 1958, W.L. Gore & Associates has taken the grand vision of “global technological innovation” as the driving force behind its survival and development. In the mid-1970s, the company innovatively bonded the GORE-TEX? membrane with many traditional textile fabrics to produce a unique GORE-TEX? fabric with waterproof, windproof, and breathable functions. The birth of this fabric revolutionized consumers' outdoor activities, allowing people to truly experience all-weather optimal protection for the first time.

During the event, Zhuang Songming, General Manager of the Apparel Division of Gore’s Textile Business in China, introduced Gore’s technological innovations, saying: “What the GORE-TEX? brand produces is not just a simple fabric or any particular piece of clothing, but rather the technology behind producing textiles. On the path of GORE-TEX? brand development, technological innovation has always been our corporate DNA and core competitiveness. Only by partnering with those who also regard technological innovation as their corporate DNA can we transform the technological achievements of outdoor innovation into ultimate equipment experiences and extraordinary outdoor feelings for outdoor enthusiasts. That’s why the GORE-TEX? brand has joined hands with many top partners, including Arc'teryx?.”

On the day of the event, Greg Grenzke, Product Design Manager of the Climbing Series Apparel at Arc'teryx?, specially came from Canada to the event venue. He introduced the nearly 19-year history of collaboration between the GORE-TEX? brand and the Arc'teryx? brand through the star product ALPHA SV JACKET, which has won numerous awards including Backpacker Magazine's Lifetime Award and the 2012 ISPO Munich Apparel Industry Award. In 1996, the Arc'teryx? brand obtained the authorization to use GORE-TEX? fabric and began producing a new series of outdoor technical apparel; in 1998, the first ARC’TERYX ALPHA SV JACKET was born; in 2013, the new ALPHA SV JACKET adopted the durable new-generation GORE-TEX? Pro fabric, achieving excellent waterproofing and durability. To date, all hardshell products of the Arc'teryx? brand use GORE-TEX? fabric. “Arc'teryx?’s hometown, Vancouver, is very rainy. The emergence of GORE-TEX? fabric is like a ‘second skin’ for local people, bringing them dryness and comfort,” said Greg Grenzke.

In addition to product collaboration, since August 20, 2007, the GORE-TEX? brand and the Arc'teryx? brand have jointly carried out the “Follow the Mountaineers to Experience Unclimbed Peaks” campaign, which not only allows consumers to experience the charm of innovative technology but also provides them with the safety knowledge and skill training needed for outdoor activities.

When talking about the collaboration, a set of photo combinations featuring Einstein and a mischievous child caught everyone’s attention. Greg Grenzke explained the meaning behind them: “In our view, the GORE-TEX? brand is like the great Einstein, while Arc'teryx? is like that mischievous child. In their collaboration, the wise, humble ‘Einstein’ did not impose restrictions or give orders regarding the ‘child’s’ moments of innovation and inspiration. Instead, they studied together how to turn ‘ideas’ into ‘reality’ and how to achieve success together.”

Brand and Its Friends,” launched the “Break Through to the Ultimate, Stay Ultra-Dry” GORE-TEX? SURROUND? Technology Release and the 100 Outdoor Influencers Call-to-Action Ceremony, and officially released the performance and future development plans of the GORE-TEX? brand-initiated Outdoor Pioneer Camp over the past two years.
