The AI-powered 7-ELEVEN “X-STORE” No. 2 has officially opened in Taipei’s Xinyi District. Compared to the “X-STORE” No. 1, which was just launched last month, No. 2 features several major innovations, including: 24-hour operations, entry via facial biometric recognition or card swipe, the latest product recognition systems and self-service barcode scanning at checkout areas, and other system upgrades—allowing the public to easily experience the future of smart retail.

X-STORE No. 2 also introduces the latest smart financial services, testing Taiwan’s first intelligent “X-ATM” in partnership with CTBC Bank. It combines four major functions: finger vein and facial recognition, multi-language support, loose change deposits, and foreign currency withdrawals—offering great convenience. In addition, the OPENPOINT VIP registration process has been simplified; register once and you can access all X-STOREs.

Additionally, the seating area in X-STORE No. 2 is designed with a tech-inspired style and offers free mobile wireless charging zones. The store’s entrance and exit use a dual-gate design with infrared double-sensing technology to count the number of customers entering. The self-checkout system has also been upgraded to more advanced AI-powered product recognition equipment, significantly improving identification speed and stability.

As X-STORE No. 2 operates 24 hours a day without on-site staff, security measures have been specially enhanced in collaboration with Chung Hsin Security, along with police-public linkage safety mechanisms. The store is equipped with various sensors that enable remote monitoring to keep track of real-time conditions, ensuring the safety of both consumers and the store.
