A winding path emerging on the sea surface creates an endless feeling, as if leading people to the very edge of the ocean. Walking alone on the vast expanse of water gives one a sense of being ethereally detached from the world. It’s a very popular photo spot on IG. Below is a collection of six sea walkways across Taiwan. When you have time, head to the coast, step onto the pathways floating above the sea, and let the noise drift away with the tides.

1.Xiangshan Wetland
Located in Hsinchu, Xiangshan Wetland is home to Taiwan’s most abundant mudflat fiddler crabs along the coast and serves as one of the migration routes for Siberian birds. To allow people to get close to intertidal life without harming the ecology, a 250-meter-long crab-watching walkway was designed.

The winding pathway built along the wetland is surrounded by expansive marshland. At high tide, it feels as though you’re walking toward the end of the ocean, with the breathtaking view of the sea and sky merging into one. At low tide, you can also see...crabs, mudskippersand other vibrant intertidal organisms.
