Continuous heavy rain causes road collapse; Shoushan Zoo announces temporary closure

From the 27th to the 29th, affected by a summer tropical depression and southwestern airflow, southern Taiwan experienced continuous heavy rainfall, leading to swollen rivers, landslides, widespread flooding, and road collapses in the region. Many amusement parks and forest recreation areas also announced a one-day closure, while Shoushan Zoo has directly announced a closure of over a week.

The Wanshou Road section in Kaohsiung collapsed due to days of heavy rain. For safety reasons, Shoushan Zoo will be temporarily closed for visits for the next 1 to 2 weeks. It will reopen after the slope engineering work is completed and visitor traffic safety is confirmed. Similarly, Gangshan Eye will also be closed on August 31st for environmental cleanup due to the heavy rainfall.
