If you haven’t shouted your heart out in a long time, then come on over. On October 24, 2015, the first Suzhou Mountain Cross-Country Marathon will kick off at the Suzhou Radio & TV Film Studio ...
From October 24 to 25, the Red Bull 2015 Parkour Competition is set to hold its two-day annual finals in the ancient city of Pingyao, Shanxi. Eighteen young adrenaline seekers, selected from five regional qualifying rounds in Beijing, Xinjiang, Guiyang, Xi'an, and Shanghai, will gather here for the ultimate showdown in “moving art.”

The finals will be divided into two segments. On October 24, there will be the Best Trick one-way challenge and the team finals, while October 25 will feature an individual skills showdown. The Best Trick challenge involves 10 athletes taking turns to perform individual moves within a designated area and time limit (10 minutes), with the judging panel selecting the best overall performer. For the team event, based on regional groupings and a “wildcard” round, the 18 participants will be divided into 6 groups of 3. Within a set time, they will shoot and edit a 3-minute parkour creative video, with the winning team ultimately chosen by the judges. The individual skills showdown consists of four rounds: rankings, elimination matches (two rounds), and the finals. It primarily evaluates the athletes’ movement quality, fluidity, creativity, and difficulty, culminating in the crowning of the champion.
It’s truly hard to predict who will take home the title at the finals. The athletes who made it through the regional rounds have all showcased their signature moves—for example, Sun Qi from Beijing with his “belly bounce lateral twist,” Xie Guangsong from Guiyang with his “4-meter cloud drop high,” He Yiyu from Xi’an with his “4-meter boost backflip,” and Ruan Jianyuan from Shanghai with his “board push step-back flip.” After competing, exchanging ideas, and honing their skills—especially during this period of reflection and training—how much will they improve? Faced with the sprawling ancient city walls, the deep alleys paved with bluestone, and the profound historical ambiance of this ancient city, how will their energy be ignited and released? What kind of guidance and insights will they gain in front of renowned parkour athletes and idols from around the world? All these elements make the outcome of the annual championship highly unpredictable.

The 2015 finals have invited judges from each regional round to preside over the championship, lending their presence to China’s top-tier parkour competition and supporting its athletes. Well-known domestic parkour experts such as Sun Jie, Australia’s “dive-front flip king” Dominic, France’s “Assassin’s Creed” live-action star Simon, Russia’s “death challenger” Oleg, and Ukraine’s “double backflip guy” Erik will all make appearances. Their presence will also bring thrilling and exciting highlights to the event.
Parkour is a globally popular street sport embraced by many youths today. Since its introduction to China in 2006, it has become a lifestyle that young people are passionate about. Flips, dodges, jumps, and bursts of power—parkour’s moving art is not just about simple flips or brute force. It’s about using the body to defy gravity, with young athletes relying on their physical ability to swiftly and skillfully navigate any urban obstacles, exploring their physical limits and pushing the boundaries of the mind. Every traceur is a master of surfing through time and space, delivering a spectacular visual feast to the audience.

The Red Bull Parkour Competition has been held for three years to date. By building increasingly high-level, professional, and exciting competitive platforms, it has nurtured standout star athletes and has become a core event in China driving the development of new trend sports and extreme sports.
