Tianyuan Temple in Tamsui is packed with visitors, whether on weekdays or holidays, during the cherry blossom season.

The original “Sakura King” at Tianyuan Temple was removed due to disease in 2016. Thanks to efforts by the city government and the temple, a new Yoshino cherry tree has been planted in its place, and this second-generation Sakura King has become the focal point of the annual blossom viewing at Tianyuan Temple.
