Scouting Along the Route: Real Scenes

Depart from Duoying Central School. This is one of the schools in Ya'an supported by the One Foundation. After visiting the campus, the cyclists begin their journey.“Chasing Dreams to the Distance”.

The route passes by the Qingyi River. Before the Wei, Jin, Southern, and Northern Dynasties, the Qingyi River was called Qingyi Shui, also known as Mo Shui or Dadu Shui, named after the ancient state of the Qiang people who wore green clothes.

After cycling about five kilometers, reach the first rest stop ———Zhacha Noodle Shop, where the parrot outside can cutely speak human language.

Arrive at the mouth of Bifengxia Gorge, take a break and refuel. Rolling mountains stretch as far as the eye can see, with picturesque landscapes of clear waters and green hills.

Passing through villages, you’ll also spot advertisements for Ya’an’s specialty snack —“Dog Poop Candy.”It’s said that eating this candy brings you “dog poop luck,” but in reality, it tastes really sweet.

Reach Bifengxia Central School. Take a short rest, then continue on your way. The vast fields of rapeseed flowers astonish the cycling coaches who came to explore and design the route, prompting them to exclaim:“Stop the bikes, it's too beautiful.”.

Pass by Panda Town Base and you might also encounter tea-picking girls harvesting tea leaves. Follow the winding village roads to reach the Baishu Village Community Disaster Reduction Center. This is a natural oxygen bar.

After resting briefly at the Baishu Village Community Disaster Reduction Center, which was built with support from the One Foundation, continue riding along the Ten-Mile Rural Greenway. This riverside greenway impresses the cycling coaches.

Arrive at the newly built Zhongli New Village after the disaster and take a short break. This place is considered“another Peach Blossom Spring.”.

Reach the town’s centralized dining area. The fresh tofu pudding smells absolutely delicious.

This wooden barrel is specially used for steaming rice.

Arrive at Shangli Ancient Town. A Qing Dynasty Wenfeng Pagoda stands right in the middle of the street.

You’ll see inscriptions carved into the pagoda by the Red Army when they passed through during the1935year.“Anti-Japanese and Anti-Chiang”Slogans.

Many people come to the ancient town to paint.

Continue cycling along the winding mountain roads to reach the final stop.——Group 3 of Jian'gan Village, where you will see some“Earthquake-Resilient Homes,”these simple courtyards exude tranquility and peace.

Riders need to find this household as quickly as possible. At the home of the host family (next to the steel-framed residential house built with support from One Foundation), the host and others will present the riders with a cycling certificate. The event concludes here.

In the evening, stay in Shangli Ancient Town, where participants can network and share their experiences from the charity cycling trip in this distinctive local residence.
