Located in Shilin District, Taipei, Shizihou Island sits between the Keelung River and the Tamsui River, boasting a mangrove ecosystem and stunning riverside scenery—like an urban oasis—making it perfect for a family cycling day trip during weekends.

Originally a sand and gravel site, Taipei Flower Village has been transformed into a small flower market, featuring orchid greenhouses, garden plant sales, a café, DIY workshops, and an inflatable playground. With different flowers blooming in every season, the wisteria season in March and April is the highlight here.

Spanning the Keelung River and connecting both ends of Chengde Road, Shizihou Bridge stretches about 1,260 meters from the levee road of Shizihou Island in the west. It is Taiwan’s first self-anchored inclined-tower cable-stayed bridge, with towers standing 105 meters tall—making it a prominent landmark in Shilin and Beitou districts.

The basketball sports plaza beneath Shizihou Bridge is located outside the levee on the Shizihou Island side of the bridge. The surrounding levee walls feature a basketball theme, with dynamic 3D murals depicting dunks and layups that vividly capture the energy of sports action. It’s a great spot for travelers to play ball, exercise, or take Instagram-worthy photos.

The magical sandbox by Shizihou Bridge features sea creatures like seals and turtles, making it an ideal recreational spot for families. Newly added bird’s nest seats on the grass provide a rest area for both kids and adults. Nearby, lush green lawns and terraced landscape stones lead to the bow-viewing platform at the Sunset Waterfront Plaza, which frames views of Shizihou Bridge and Yangmingshan Mountain. Standing at the bow-like platform feels like a movie scene—perfect for enjoying sunsets, waterfront views, and the gentle breeze.
