After the "Michelin Guide Taipei 2019" announced the list of 12 newly added Bib Gourmand restaurants (totaling 34 Bib Gourmandrestaurants), Michelin has also released 24night market street food itemsfrom this year’s guide’s “Bib Gourmand” list, 15 of which are making their first appearance. In total, 58 “Bib Gourmand” establishments are included in this edition of the guide.

The 2019 Bib Gourmand night market street food list is as follows (‘N’ indicates first-time selection in the guide):

Nanhang Airport Night Market

A-Nan Sesame Oil Chicken: Offers healthful sesame oil chicken suitable for all seasons, with broth available for refilling on-site. Chicken legs often sell out by 7 PM, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Stinky Boss Steamed Stinky Tofu: Delicately textured, broth-soaked steamed pure vegetarian tofu, served with mushrooms and basil, boasts an exceptionally fragrant aroma.

Song Qing Spring Roll (N): The spring roll is packed with 10 different fillings, each bite rich and layered with complex textures.

Nameless Cart Sesame Cake (N): Located near the end of the night market, there’s always a long queue here—recommended are the sweet crispy cake and the long sesame cake.

Fang’s Chicken Rice (N): The aroma of the chicken rice is irresistible, and the soy-braised tofu served with it has an incredibly smooth texture.

Liu Taro: The “Crispy Taro Balls” have a crunchy exterior and are filled with delicate mashed taro, while the “Egg Yolk Taro Cakes” are stuffed with pork floss for a richer flavor.

Pig Liver Rong Zi: The pig liver soup has a sweet and savory broth with tender liver, and don’t miss the zongzi drizzled with sweet chili sauce.

Fuzhou Shizu Pepper Buns: Freshly made pepper buns with a crispy crust, bursting with juicy pork filling and peppery flavor—extremely popular and requires queuing to buy.

Shilin Night Market

Zhong’s Original Shanghai Pan-Fried Pork Buns (N): The bottoms are crispy while the tops remain soft, available in two flavors: pork and cabbage.

Good Friends Cold Noodles (N): Noodles coated in rich sesame sauce carry a faint hint of lemon, best enjoyed with a bowl of miso soup and a boiled egg.
