The beautiful Green River (Lüchuan) riverbanks from the Japanese colonial era run through the bustling streets of Central District, rivaling Kyoto’s Kamo River in Japan and earning the reputation of “Little Kyoto.” The area around National Chung Hsing University and the Green River is not only home to scenic riverside tree-lined promenades shaded by Taiwan blackboard trees, but also boasts flamboyant trees with magenta blooms that explode like pompons during this season.

The pink flower seas intermingle with emerald green woods, transforming the greenways beside National Chung Hsing University into a pink wonderland. Strolling along Xingda Road blanketed with fallen petals feels like walking on a dreamy flower-carpeted path.

Apart from the magenta trumpet trees, in May and June each year, the golden rain trees lining both sides of Xingda Road also burst into golden-yellow blooms, creating a golden tunnel effect.
