A hyper-beautiful golden and yellow flower sea hides in Taipei’s alleys and lanes!

Taipei’s alleyways also offer an IG-worthy flower sea for photos. When visiting Gongguan, aside from shopping and eating, don’t forget to admire the flowers. Opposite Wenzhou Park in Gongguan, the “Caribbean fish tree” is erupting in vibrant yellow and white blooms. Bathed in brilliant sunshine, the scene is otherworldly, making passersby stop to take photos and admire the beautiful view.

This precious introduced species, the “Caribbean fish tree,” is 43 years old and is the only fish tree among the two thousand trees protected by the Taipei City Government.

This fish tree, which stands as tall as a five-story building, was planted over 30 years ago by employees of the Taiwan Power engineering unit near the park. Every spring in April and May, as the flower buds gradually bloom, the entire tree transforms into a stunning golden floral spectacle—absolutely breathtaking.
