New York’s Red Hot Return to Taiwan: American Kung Fu Tea X Ding Gua Gua Fried Chicken Milk Tea Combo Store Opens

Taiwan’s well-known fried chicken brand Ding Gua Gua ventured into the U.S. last year, teaming up with global bubble tea chain American Kung Fu Tea to create a combo store offering fried chicken with milk tea that sparked widespread discussion. Now making a red-hot return to Taiwan from New York, Ding Gua Gua has once again joined forces with Kung Fu Tea, with the flagship store at Zhongxiao Dunhua set to open on May 3.

The Ding Gua Gua X Kung Fu Tea combo store drew major attention when it opened in New York last year—the creative pairing of “fried chicken with milk tea” was a hit with American visitors, sparking a queuing frenzy on opening day. Now that this innovative combo is back in Taiwan, it’s expected to set off another food trend craze.

This collaborative combo concept store offers 35 beverage options, including New York favorites like brown sugar pearl fresh milk and milk cap oolong tea. Ding Gua Gua has also introduced new fried items such as spicy crispy skin chicken and crispy chicken fillets—designed to create the perfect combo meal paired with drinks.
