Huzhou writes a new chapter in green tourism, earning the prestigious Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel award

Recently, the Nanxun Garden Metropolis Grand Hotel was awarded the "Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel" plaque by the "National Tourism Star-Rated Hotel Evaluation Committee," becoming the first hotel in Nanxun District, Huzhou to achieve this distinction. It is reported that the hotel is seamlessly integrated with planned high-end residential areas, premium business spaces, international conferences, eco-tourism and leisure facilities, sports tourism, and supporting commercial developments. Leveraging the "World Cultural Heritage Site," "National 5A-Level Scenic Area," "China Historical and Cultural Ancient Town," and "China's Top Ten Charming Towns"—Nanxun Ancient Town—the hotel collectively helps create the New Huangpu · Nanxun International Tourism Resort Ecological Tourism Complex.

On March 21, the Nanxun Garden Metropolis Grand Hotel held a solemn and enthusiastic unveiling ceremony for its Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel status. Government leaders in attendance included Yao Changxi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Nanxun District Party Committee and Executive Deputy District Chief; Wu Yi, Deputy Director of the Huzhou Municipal Tourism Commission; Xu Yong, Director of the Travel Management Division of the Huzhou Municipal Tourism Commission; and Qiu Jianmin, Deputy Director of the Nanxun District Tourism Bureau. Corporate leaders from the hotel’s parent company were also present, including Lu Quefei, Executive Director and General Manager of Shanghai New Huangpu Real Estate Co., Ltd.; Chen Lisha, General Manager of Shanghai Boda Investment Development Co., Ltd.; Zhu Jianyong, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai New Huangpu Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Chairman of New Huangpu (Zhejiang) Investment Development Co., Ltd.; and Li Hongyan, General Manager of New Huangpu (Zhejiang) Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Chairman of the Nanxun Garden Metropolis Grand Hotel. Together, they witnessed this important moment. Yang Weidong, Deputy Secretary of the Nanxun District Party Committee and District Chief, also specially attended the celebration event of the unveiling ceremony.

The unveiling ceremony specially invited Miss Chinese International 2015 winner and TVB Miss Chinese International Li Siyu as the guest of honor and host.

At the Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel unveiling ceremony of the Nanxun Garden Metropolis Grand Hotel, Yao Changxi, Executive Deputy District Chief of Nanxun District, and Wu Yi, Deputy Director of the Huzhou Tourism Commission, both delivered speeches, affirming the achievements and honors attained by the hotel and expressing their expectations for its future development.

Mr. Li Hongyan, General Manager of New Huangpu (Zhejiang) Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Chairman of the Nanxun Garden Metropolis Grand Hotel, stated, “We express our heartfelt gratitude to the provincial, municipal, and district tourism bureaus for their strong support of the hotel, and we recognize the efforts of the hotel management team. In the future, the hotel will continue to implement the 'Five Major Development Concepts' proposed in the 'Suggestions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Formulating the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development'—'innovation, coordination, green development, openness, and sharing.' We will strive to build a green ecological hotel and set a new industry benchmark. At the same time, we will support Huzhou’s goal of establishing an ecological city, respond to the green consumption philosophy of Nanxun District, actively carry out energy-saving and emission-reduction projects, integrate energy management and the creation of a 'Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel' into the hotel’s daily operations, and hope to convey the green philosophy to more guests, making our due contribution to society.”

The "Green Tourism Hotel" standard (LB/T007-2015) under China’s tourism industry standards, implemented by the National Tourism Administration in February 2016, classifies green tourism hotels into two tiers: "Golden Leaf Level" and "Silver Leaf Level." It advocates that hotels adopt sustainability as a core concept, uphold clean production, maintain hotel quality, promote green consumption, use resources rationally, protect the ecological environment, and assume social and environmental responsibilities.

The "Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel" is the highest tier in the national green tourism hotel standards, with very high requirements for essential conditions such as hotel management structure, zonal water-electric-gas metering, dust removal equipment, sewage treatment, and air quality. The certification process is extremely challenging. After a year of preparation and application, the Nanxun Garden Metropolis Grand Hotel, under the guidance and support of the provincial, municipal, and district tourism bureaus and organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Hotel Industry Association, underwent evaluation. Experts from the Provincial Hotel Star Rating Committee listened to the hotel’s green initiatives report, reviewed its green regulations, systems, and related documentation, and conducted on-site inspections and scoring of various hotel areas. They acknowledged the hotel’s efforts in the green certification process, and it passed the National Tourism Administration’s green tourism hotel review, earning the title of "Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel." This makes the Nanxun Garden Metropolis Grand Hotel the first in Nanxun District, Huzhou to receive this honor, signifying that the hotel meets the National Tourism Administration’s requirements for green environmental protection in terms of service and hardware facilities, and has become a leader in the green hotel industry.

Participating experts stated that the Nanxun Garden Metropolis Grand Hotel’s achievement of the "Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel" honor supports the three-year plan for the protection and utilization of Nanxun Ancient Town through concrete actions, promotes the advancement of the tourism industry, facilitates the overall organic renewal of the ancient town, establishes an international first-class tourism resort destination, an internationally renowned ancient town leisure residence area, and a classic model for urban revitalization of ancient towns.
