With the 2022 Winter Olympics drawing near, Chongli, as the main venue for snow events, has captured global attention. Though the ski season is nearing its end, ski resorts remain bustling with visitors. The demand for winter sports is growing rapidly. The "2nd 1031 Cup SWIX & 8264 Alpine Slalom Invitation Tournament," organized by the 1031 Ski Club and SWIX, and co-hosted by 8264 Outdoor Network, Lingdong Shanshui Marketing Consultants (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and Wanlong Resort Paradise, kicked off brilliantly on March 25–26, 2017.

This event featured exciting alpine slalom competitions for both skiing and snowboarding, a thrilling gala dinner, and a grand awards ceremony. It marked the first time in China that a mass sports competition united diverse groups—including university students, athletes with disabilities, youths, children, and seasoned professionals—in a single competition. By providing a platform for skiers to connect and showcase their skills, the tournament represents a pioneering effort by grassroots ski clubs to promote mass skiing.

This competition can be considered the most inclusive mass skiing event to date, with nearly 100 participants from the ski teams of 28 universities, including Beihang University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Peking University, and Beijing Union University. As a cradle for nurturing China’s next generation of skiers, the 1031 Ski Club also attracted nearly 100 young skiers of various ages, offering a broad platform to improve their skills and foster technical exchange, while also helping the country identify, train, and reserve future skiing talent.

Notably, to further advance sports for people with disabilities and support the Beijing Winter Paralympics, the event invited athletes from the national disabled skiing team. The competition provided them with valuable experience, and the organizing committee awarded the Chinese Disabled Ski Team the Best Outdoor Style Award. Their performances not only thrilled the audience but also moved everyone deeply. Through their efforts, they demonstrated the resilient and indomitable spirit of disabled athletes, vividly showcasing their boundless passion for winter sports.

It is reported that nearly 1,000 participants registered for the tournament, with around 300 competing officially and nearly 100 others joining for the experience. On-site, competitors were full of confidence, not only racing for speed but also showcasing their skills. They gracefully navigated through the gates, enjoying the thrill of snow and competition while vying for over a million yuan in prizes offered by the organizing committee.

The young skiers in the junior group also delivered impressive performances. Despite their young age, their skiing was polished and professional, exuding seriousness and star potential—sure to become rising stars in the skiing world in the years to come.

The evening gala on March 25 was a grand reunion for all participants. Attendees included Liu Boyu, President of Zhangjiakou Ski Association; Zheng Liangcheng, General Manager of SWIX; Zhao Jianqiu, Chairman of 1031 Ski Club; Song Xiangyang, Director; Ni Shoujun and Ding Yanfeng, heads of the club; Yu Donglin, General Manager of Wanlong Resort Paradise; Mo Ran, representative of 8264; Li Qingsong, General Manager of Tengyue Ski Resort; Jiao, head of Yabuli Sunshine Resort; Ji Jing, head of Lingdong Shanshui Marketing Consultants; and numerous industry media. The event featured wonderful performances by young skiers from the 1031 Ski Club, as well as a lucky draw with nearly a million yuan in prizes sponsored by partners, making for an unforgettable closing celebration.

On the afternoon of March 26, after two days of intense competition, the grand awards ceremony was held in the ski equipment hall at Wanlong Resort Paradise. The top eight finishers in each category received prizes meticulously prepared by the organizing committee.
