The iconic blue, white, and black striped MONO eraser from Tombow, a legendary Japanese stationery brand, is a nostalgic item from many people’s school days. Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, the brand has created a giant version—a double-decker bus called the MONO BUS—that cruises the streets of Tokyo.

Unlike regular city buses, the MONO BUS is refurbished from a London bus. It not only features two decks but also sports a redesigned exterior decorated with the classic paper packaging pattern of the MONO eraser. The eye-catching blue, white, and black stripes make it a dazzling sight as it weaves through the city streets.

The special edition MONO BUS ran from 12:00 to 19:00 on June 21 along major streets in Shibuya, Harajuku, and Omotesando for promotional purposes. From June 22–23, it operated between Shibuya and Harajuku, offering free rides so fans could take photos and create memories on the bus.

In addition to the themed bus, the brand has also launched a series of MONO-inspired merchandise to celebrate its 50th anniversary, including tote bags, sneakers, and T-shirts featuring the MONO design.
