Northern Taiwan's heat index soars above 43°C ! Nationwide UV levels hit extreme highs – avoid sun exposure

The heat index in northern Taiwan has soared above 43°C, with nationwide UV levels at extreme highs. Everyone going out must take proper sun protection measures.

Affected by sunlight and air subsidence, the weather is sunny and hot across the country. Around noon on the 21st, the Central Mountain Valley in Hualien County, the Taipei Basin, and areas near mountains or river valleys in Kaohsiung City are under an orange alert, with a likelihood of continuous temperatures reaching 36°C. Cloudy to sunny conditions across Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. Days are sunny and hot, with scattered brief showers along the central and southern coasts in the early morning. There is also a chance of isolated localized showers in mountainous areas across the country in the afternoon.
