Hidden between the Coastal Range and the Central Mountain Range, Provincial Highway 197 stretches from Chihshang Township in the north to Beinan Township in the south. Along the way, endless rice paddies and terraced fields present a poetic and picturesque landscape. Its unique geographical location condenses the multi-layered charm of Taitung’s natural and cultural features—an exclusively local scenery.

Provincial Highway 197, which hides many hidden gems, serves as the natural stage for the first Longitudinal Valley Earth Art Festival, inviting ten artists from Finland, Germany, Turkey, Japan, and Taiwan to reside and create onsite.
