The "Century Buddha," painted by internationally renowned Zen art master Hong Qisong, measures 166 meters in length and 72.5 meters in width. It was unveiled at Huiwan Bay at 10:00 a.m. on June 21 and has been certified by the Guinness World Records.

Buddhist artist Hong Qisong had previously exhibited the world’s largest domed Buddhist painting (160 meters long and 62.5 meters wide) in 2018. The massive painting certified on June 21 took 17 years to create, is roughly equivalent in size to a 50-story skyscraper or 30 basketball courts, and weighs an astonishing 2,000 kilograms.

Tai Kai Group invited Hong Qisong’s artwork “The Great Buddha” to be displayed at the New Paradise Amusement Park in Hualien’s Huiwan Bay, and it has been certified by the Guinness World Records as the “world’s largest painting.” It also carries a wish for peace and blessings for Hualien.
