After the International Olympic Committee announced last year that surfing would be included in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the sport has begun to gain global momentum, including in Asia — especially in China, where surfing culture was once almost non-existent.

- A New Journey -

REnextop has just celebrated its first birthday. Looking back at what we’ve accomplished over the past year — from sponsoring China’s first women’s surf camp, helping China’s first generation of surfers explore the world beyond our borders, strategically signing promising domestic surfers, to launching the #SURFOUT# surf trip series — every step has been solid and has lived up to your expectations. This year, REnextop will take you on an all-new journey.

- The 2017 REnextop Asia Surf Tour -

In collaboration with the Asian Surfing Championship (ASC), REnextop has created China’s first Asia-wide surf tour. This year’s tour consists of four stops, and the overall champions (in Men’s Shortboard, Women’s Shortboard, Men’s Longboard, and Women’s Longboard) will be determined based on cumulative points across all four events.

The first stop of the 2017 REnextop Asia Surf Tour – Bali (June 8–11) – perfectly blends local Balinese culture with the event, offering both entertainment and professionalism with a strong international flair.

On June 8, the opening day of the competition, a traditional Balinese blessing ceremony will serve as the Opening Ceremony to cheer on the athletes.

The official competition days run from June 8 to 11 at the famous Echo Beach in Bali.

On June 11, after the competition concludes, the awards ceremony and After Party will take place at THE LAWN in Old Man Beach, Canggu.

Nowadays, the lifestyles, values, and worldviews of Chinese youth are being quietly transformed by surfing culture. The original vision of the REnextop Surf Team was to convey the spirit of adventure, respect for nature, and longing for freedom through sunny, positive, and uplifting surfers. Surfing is on the rise in China and gaining popularity among more and more people.

- REnextop and the Chinese National Surf Team -

Five main athletes of the Chinese National Surf Team are REnextop-signed athletes: Monica Guo Shujuan, TZ Tiezhuang, ASam Xu Jingsen (team captain), Stan Qiu Xunhao, and Chen Guoquan. They were selected for the Chinese National Surf Team on March 31. This event also serves as a bridge for the Chinese National Surf Team to connect with international surfing culture, providing a platform for Chinese athletes to showcase themselves in the global surfing arena.

- REnextop and Daisy -

During the #SURFOUT# trip in the Philippines, we met local women’s longboard surfing champion Daisy, a mother of two. In conversation with her, we not only felt the warmth of this mother but also admired her pride and dedication as a surfer—qualities well worth learning from.

In San Juan, Philippines, life is not affluent, yet surfing fills the spiritual world of the locals. Just yesterday, with REnextop’s sponsorship support, Daisy won the National Competition in Siargao and secured a spot in the 9th Annual International Women’s Surfing Cup (shortboard division). We sincerely hope she achieves her dream.

- REnextop and GuGu -

Taiwanese surfing champion GuGu Guo Hengliang is a legendary figure who won numerous titles in Taiwan starting from the 1990s. Last year, he defeated many strong competitors to win the WSL Asia Cup Surfing Championship. But from this year onward, his goal goes beyond Asian titles—the world is his stage.

REnextop will soon team up with GuGu Guo Hengliang to help Chinese surfing go global—not just realizing his dream, but everyone’s.

Asian surfing occupies only a small part in the history of global surfing development. The overall strength of Asian surfers still lags far behind that of WSL QS and CT-level athletes. The purpose of the REnextop Asian Surfing Tour is to provide more opportunities for domestic athletes to compete and exchange with high-level international surfers, fostering greater interaction between Chinese, Asian, and global surfing communities.

The REnextop Asian Surfing Tour Bali leg will feature top surfers from Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and the Philippines. With exchanges, competitions, and parties, we aim to create the most authentic and professional surfing event.
