An atmospheric old tea factory filled with the rich aroma of tea offers a delightful tea-tasting journey, where its high-quality architecture makes it a must-visit hidden gem in Daxi for all the hipsters out there.

In 1926, the Japanese built the Kabayama Factory, the predecessor of the Daxi Tea Factory, which marked the beginning of Daxi’s glorious tea-making history and could be called the “tea industry’s new elite” of the time.

A fire disaster in 1956 almost completely destroyed the tea factory. Reconstruction efforts by Taiwan Agricultural and Forestry Corporation began in 2010, bringing back the tea charm that had been hidden for half a century, now revived with a blend of old and new elements for the world to see.

The exterior of the Daxi Old Tea Factory was modeled after the Darjeeling Tea Factory in India, while the interior space combines Taiwanese and Japanese styles, reflecting great multicultural diversity. It also displays well-preserved old equipment for visitors to see.

Blue is the main color scheme of the building. Whether it's the windows and beams, the shaped shelves, the walls, or the artworks, the understated blue tone blends exceptionally well with this brick-and-cypress-frame tea factory.
