The United States has long been a top travel destination for people in Taiwan. This year, i-Ride TAIPEI at Taipei’s Nanshan Plaza and the i-Ride experience center in Kaohsiung have partnered specially with the American Institute in Taiwan to present the “Discover America: Soar Across America” film from now until July 31.

In just twenty minutes, the “Discover America: Soar Across America” film takes viewers on a thrilling eagle-eye tour of iconic sites such as the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls, while capturing the spirit of freedom and adventure in the U.S. The footage also features numerous extreme sports scenes – allowing audiences to ride the waves with Hawaii’s top surfers in massive ocean swells, or witness extreme skiers in Alaska launching off near-vertical mountain slopes, offering an adrenaline-pumping experience up close.

The “Discover America: Soar Across America” film took nearly two years to shoot and produce. Currently, it can only be experienced in Minnesota, USA. This flight cinema has hosted over a million visitors to date and has been voted a “must-visit” attraction on TripAdvisor.

Since 2016, Intercity Group has maintained strong and stable collaborations with the United States. Its first flight cinema was located at Soar Across America in Minnesota. In March this year, Intercity opened a LEGO-themed flight cinema at LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

Over the next three years, Intercity plans to open new 5D flight cinemas across the United States, including in California, New York’s Times Square, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. The company aims to produce more films featuring distinctive locations across the U.S., so that travelers visiting major American destinations can explore local beauty through an immersive flying experience.
Future summer programming also includes new films. At i-Ride TAIPEI on the 6th floor of Taipei’s Breeze Nan Shan and the i-Ride experience center in Kaohsiung, an anime film currently exclusive to Japan – “Ghost in the Shell” – will be screened, allowing Taiwanese anime fans to feel as if they’ve truly stepped into the world of comics.
