Infinity pool with views of takeoffs and landings. A historic building has been transformed into a high-end accommodation — an exceptionally unique terminal hotel that’s a dream stay travelers shouldn’t miss.

The TWA Flight Center, a terminal of Trans World Airlines, was hailed as the “central station for jets” in the 1960s. It was commissioned to be built by neo-futurist architect Eero Saarinen, and its design remains very avant-garde even by today’s standards.

The building’s exterior showcases a gull-wing design. Its thin-shell structure creates a spacious, high-ceilinged lobby interior, while massive curved glass allows natural light to easily flood in, creating a comfortable sense of space and excellent views.

It was closed shortly after the turn of the millennium due to outdated facilities unable to accommodate newer aircraft models and security requirements. Fortunately, nearly 20 years later, the terminal re-emerged as the TWA Hotel, allowing travelers to experience the terminal’s former glory.

Boasting the world’s largest hotel lobby, the TWA Hotel features 512 rooms with a retro style, as well as various event and conference spaces. It also houses a museum where guests can explore its history and unique features.
