Grand Opening of a Thousand-Square-Meter Children’s Art Village – Family Fun with Grassland Picnic Market

Taoyuan’s “Nan? Children’s Art Village” is a cultural and creative park repurposing old buildings. After starting trial operations in April and four months of preparation, it officially opened on August 4. Originally built in 1980 as the “Northern Region Children’s Home Staff and Director Dormitories,” its activities and facilities focus on family, art, learning, and food.

Covering approximately 1,150 square meters, the Nan? Children’s Art Village has specially planned events such as “Joy of Midsummer – Twilight Art Field,” “Art Kids Fun Workshop,” “Chubby Summer Grassland Picnic Market,” and “Humanities Parent-Child Lecture” to celebrate its opening, allowing parents and children to enjoy an artistic learning experience together.

In addition to the “Art Kids Fun Workshop” life crafts creation classes that let both kids and adults experience the joy of hands-on creation, every Saturday in August features “Joy of Midsummer – Twilight Art Field” with movie screenings and cultural programs, while every Sunday offers “Humanities Parent-Child Lecture” with guest speakers from the education and arts sectors to enrich parents’ knowledge for quality time with their kids.

Additionally, the “Chubby Summer Grassland Fat Card Picnic Market” held on August 3 and 4 offers exclusive event discounts: simply spend any amount at the Fat Card stalls to receive a NT$180 “Art Village Cash Voucher.” The market day also features performances by “Lai Bao Street Art” and “Thousand Right Tops,” allowing everyone to enjoy the grassy field and soak up the summer vibes.

In addition to organizing seasonal children’s themes integrating literature, art, music, and aesthetics, the village collaborates with local community forces such as schools to establish itself not just as a historical exhibition space but also as an innovative hub for art education.
