Typhoon Wipha, the 7th mild typhoon, is located in the northern offshore waters near Hainan Island and moving across the Indochina Peninsula. The newly formed Typhoon Francisco, the 8th, is advancing toward Kyushu, Japan. The two typhoons are positioned respectively north and south of Taiwan, and will not have a direct impact, but precautions against high temperatures and afternoon thunderstorms are advised.

Taiwan is located on the southwestern side of the Pacific High. As the Pacific High gradually retreats northward, the northward movement of the typhoon draws moisture north, leading to afternoon thunderstorms as the upper-level outflow cloud systems of the typhoon pass over Taiwan. The northern part of Taiwan has relatively fewer clouds, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, so high temperatures should be guarded against.

On August 2nd, there will be localized brief showers or thunderstorms in the southeastern region, Hengchun Peninsula, and eastern areas, while other regions will be mostly cloudy to sunny with localized brief thunderstorms in the afternoon. There is a chance of localized heavy rain or torrential rain in central and southern regions, along with localized heavy rain in the southeastern region and mountainous areas of the north.

From August 3rd to August 5th, there will be localized brief showers in the eastern half of the country and the Hengchun Peninsula, while other regions will be mostly cloudy to sunny with localized brief thunderstorms in the afternoon. Central and southern regions and mountainous areas in the north also have a chance of heavier rainfall. From August 6th to August 8th, under the influence of a low-pressure trough, there will be localized brief showers in the eastern and southern regions, while other areas will be mostly cloudy to sunny with localized brief thunderstorms in the afternoon.
