Alcatraz Island, known for having once held infamous inmates such as Chicago mob boss Al Capone and the brutally talented Robert Stroud, along with its complex geography—rugged rocks and treacherous conditions—posed immense challenges. Thus, in 1981, the legendary “Escape from Alcatraz” International Triathlon was born.
This race is considered one of the world’s top four triathlons. In 2006, it was named the World’s Best Triathlon of the Year by Triathlete Magazine. The Escape from Alcatraz International Triathlon is also widely recognized as one of the hardest triathlons in the world.

Before 2012, he was an 180-pound homebody addicted to the internet. However, a university graduation bike ride across the Sichuan-Tibet route changed his life. Over four years, he told an incredibly inspiring story. He said that triathlon transformed him completely, giving him the courage to face challenges and the determination to achieve his goals.
