“Unagi Don Specialties” is supervised by the third-generation owner of Tokyo’s 80-year-old unagi restaurant “Negishi Miyagawa,” marking its first overseas branch. It adopts the Kanto-style cooking method, pouring artisan dedication into creating rich, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth unagi flavors.

“Unagi Don Specialties” opens in the food court of Linkou Mitsui Outlet Park.

“Unagi Don Specialties” carefully selects premium eels farmed in southern Taiwan’s Kaohsiung-Pingtung region, using a steaming-then-grilling method to lock in the quality of both skin and flesh. It also uses Tainan Douliu’s Koshihikari rice, pairing the springy texture of the rice with the umami of the eel. Finally, a specially imported Japanese sauce adds a subtly sweet, not overly salty flavor that makes the unagi rice truly unique.

“Unagi Don Specialties” pays meticulous attention to ingredient selection and cooking methods.

For its launch, “Unagi Don Specialties” offers three different types of unagi rice: the signature “Special Charcoal-Grilled Unagi Don Banquet,” the three-way “Unagi Box Banquet” that lets you enjoy one eel in three styles, and the “Unagi Chirashi Sushi Banquet” paired with sashimi. Prices are all under NT$1,000, with the most affordable option being just NT$290 for a uniquely flavored unagi rice.

Prices at “Unagi Don Specialties” are all under NT$1,000, with the signature Charcoal-Grilled Unagi Don Banquet available for as low as NT$290.

Additionally, the shop offers desserts and ice cream, with the standout “Japanese-style shaved ice” recreating iconic frozen treats from Japanese anime and films. Flavors include matcha-red bean milk, strawberry milk, and coffee milk, priced at NT$180 for a feast that delights both the eyes and the palate.

Besides unagi rice, “Unagi Don Specialties” also offers the eye-catching “Japanese-style shaved ice.”
