Boosted Travel Subsidies for Fall and Winter: Buy One Get One Free on Attractions & Pocket Money for Night Markets

Recently, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications launched the “Expanded Fall and Winter Travel Incentive Program,” which started in September and attracted many travelers to book accommodations and go on trips. It has now announced a second wave of enhanced subsidy plans, featuring eleven major types of benefits to be offered by various ministries and commissions under the Executive Yuan, scheduled to run from September 16 to December 31.

The eleven major benefits include subsidies from the Ministry of Economic Affairs for independent travelers, providing an additional NT$200 night market voucher per room for use during trips; the Council of Indigenous Peoples adding NT$600 in electronic gift certificates that can be used at restaurants in 70 key Hakka cultural development areas or for purchasing local specialties; the National Palace Museum is also offering a “buy one get one free” admission deal for two visitors.

The original autumn travel subsidy allows independent travelers to receive over NT$1000 in accommodation discounts, and this second wave of enhanced subsidies will introduce separate subsidy schemes from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Council of Agriculture, the Council of Indigenous Peoples, the Council of Aboriginal Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, and others, aiming to boost travel and consumption willingness.

The second wave of enhanced subsidies begins on September 16. Travelers planning domestic trips soon should keep an eye on the various promotional programs offered by different departments—enjoy fun while also saving money.
