*Miaoli County urgently announced after noon on the 30th that work and classes will be suspended after 6:00 PM.
*Hualien County announced at 7:30 AM on the 30th, in accordance with the Central Weather Bureau's forecast standards, that work and classes will be suspended for the entire day of the 30th.
Many complaints arose as numerous students were already at school.
*Taoyuan City has suspended work and classes.
*Yilan County has suspended work and classes.
*Xinzhu County has suspended both classes and work, while Xinzhu City remains operational—sparking considerable public dissatisfaction.
*TRA, THSR, Taipei MRT, Danhai Light Rail, and Taoyuan Airport are currently operating normally; afternoon service may be adjusted, please stay tuned.

Joint announcement by the Greater Taipei Region (Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung):
Based on wind and rain predictions from the Central Weather Bureau, wind force and rainfall on September 30 are expected to meet warning criteria, with the typhoon circulation projected to expand and weather conditions to intensify. Considering the shared living area of the Greater Taipei Region and through consensus among the three local governments, it is announced that work and classes will be suspended tomorrow.

At 20:00 on the 29th, the center of Typhoon Mitag was located at 20.3°N, 125.1°E, approximately 640 km southeast of Taipei over the sea. It is moving northwest at 21 km/h, with maximum sustained winds near the center at 30 m/s (about 108 km/h), equivalent to a strong Category 11 typhoon.

As Typhoon Mitag continues to intensify, rainfall in eastern Taiwan will significantly increase early tomorrow morning. Heavy to torrential rain is not ruled out for central and mountainous areas of Hualien northward. Torrential rain is likely in mountainous parts of New Taipei and Yilan—stay particularly alert.
