First Matsumoto Kiyoshi store opens at a high-speed rail station: 15-day consecutive promotions with gifts for purchases over a certain amount

From Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Japan’s most popular drugstore chain, the first convenience-style drugstore in Taiwan opened on October 17 at Taoyuan Station of the High-Speed Rail.

Since launching its Taichung No. 1 store in the Taichung First Senior High School commercial area in September this year—its first outside Taipei—Matsumoto Kiyoshi has gained popularity among students and young consumers. Especially best-selling items include Japanese directly imported snacks, exclusive daily necessities, and over-the-counter cosmetics. In October, it collaborated for the first time with Taiwan High-Speed Rail to open its first convenience-style drugstore in Taiwan.

Taiwan’s first convenience-style drugstore by Matsumoto Kiyoshi is located within Taoyuan Station of Taiwan High-Speed Rail. As one of the top four busiest stations in terms of passenger volume, the station is connected to the Taoyuan Airport MRT line, as well as express and local buses. Its main clientele are tourists traveling through and short-distance commuters between Taipei and Taoyuan. The store focuses on fast and convenient shopping, offering a one-stop solution for a variety of Japanese cosmetics and daily necessities for consumers making brief stops.

Taiwan’s first convenience-style drugstore by Matsumoto Kiyoshi is the brand’s sixth outlet in Taiwan. While continuing its signature yellow-and-blue color scheme and the prominent “Pharmacy” logo, this 29-ping (approximately 95.7 square meters) store is the smallest of the six. It stocks over 5,000 product SKUs. The display prioritizes fast and convenient shopping by featuring small, lightweight, and easily portable functional items—especially popular best-selling brands and Matsumoto Kiyoshi’s exclusive travel-sized and small-capacity sets—aimed at meeting the needs of travelers and commuters with the latest Japanese trends.

For this opening, the store offers 15 consecutive days of 10% off storewide, along with limited-edition sales of the popular Japanese IG-favorite, exclusive Matsumoto Kiyoshi ARGELAN tinted lip balm. Additionally, purchases over NT$688 will receive a limited-edition luggage belt exclusively for the Matsumoto Kiyoshi Taoyuan High-Speed Rail Store opening. (Limited quantity, while supplies last.)
