Wang Yangming makes an appearance at the Macallan Estate Photography Exhibition – get an exclusive preview of rare whisky editions & masterpieces

In 2018, the new Macallan distillery officially opened, marking a new milestone in the global whisky industry. To help art and whisky enthusiasts in Taiwan learn more about this remarkable journey, Macallan launched the “Macallan Estate Photography Exhibition” at Taipei’s Huashan 1914 Creative Park, using art, photography, and craftsmanship to showcase the unique allure of whisky.

The “Macallan Masters of Photography MAGNUM EDITION” featured in this exhibition is a collaboration between Macallan and the world-renowned Magnum Photos agency, created to commemorate the inauguration of the new Macallan distillery.

The completion of the new distillery will forever transform the landscape of the Macallan Estate. Through these works by master photographers, Macallan has comprehensively documented this journey, preserving this historic moment in an innovative and compelling way that conveys the spirit and story of Macallan.

The Macallan Estate Photography Exhibition brings together works by six world-class photographers, capturing different facets of this groundbreaking new distillery — from the terroir that shaped it to the construction of the new facility, the engineers involved, and the character of its leaders. Each aspect is depicted in depth, highlighting the profound meaning and unique architecture behind the building.

The exhibition also showcases the “Macallan 72-Year Genesis Crystal Decanter,” created to commemorate the opening of the new Macallan distillery. This crystal decanter was handcrafted by Lalique master artisans, inspired by the design of the new Macallan distillery, with the distillery’s distinctive structure perfectly translated into the decanter’s design.
